Do I need to see my GP before making an appointment?
No anyone can refer themselves for treatment. However I am happy to recieve referrals from your GP or specialist and will keep in touch with them regarding your progress as required.
If I feel that further medical advice is needed I will refer you back to your GP or on to another consultant.
What will I expect on my first session?
Your first visit will incorporate an initial assessment and advice/treatment. A detailed history of your present condition and medical history will be taken followed by a clinical examination. Your goals will be discussed and together a treatment plan will be established.
Will physiotherapy help me?
The initial assessment will help me to establish this. If I feel that physiotherapy is not appropriate I will refer you to the appropriate medical professional.
Can I have a holistic treatment if I have cancer?
Yes, cancer is not a contraindication to any of the holistic therapies. A full assessment will be carried out prior to your first treatment so that the therapy can be tailored to meet your individual needs.
Do you do home visits?
Yes I am happy to come to see you in your own home. I am also happy to visit care homes and residential homes.
What is a Chartered Physiotherapist?
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. This is our professional body whose guidelines and codes of practice we adhere to when becoming a member. I am also a member of the Health Professions Council.
